Domain Flipping How To Make Money With Domains

domainssWell guys I’ve decided that it was time to rewrite this tutorial. After my site got deleted I was unable to find it so here we go again. When I first added this tutorial there was a lot of interest in it. So I hope you enjoy this and can benefit you or your business to some degree.

As you all know the domain business has been around for awhile now and thousands of people worldwide are making money from it. Although only a hand full of these are making the big money and I mean big, the rest of us can still make a nice living from it weather you do it part time or full time. Don’t believe those who say that the domain industry is dieing, It’s not it is like everything else in our world going slow at the moment like the markets etc, but if you want to make money from it then you will. I’m only young, still in school for that, and yet I use my initiative to buy great domains and resell them. People feel that you need domains like car.com or sex.com to make any money, but that is not true. Two word domains are a high end market if you know what you are doing and that is what I am going to show you.

domain flipping has many different approaches, the ones you choose can be vital in making you the money that you want. The domain industry is huge and it’s still there for the taken. So lets explain all these different ways to succeed!

Register and Flip- This is the most used method I to use this method when domain flipping. This involves either buying a domain that has just been dropped, deleted or expired or even just registering a fresh new one and then reselling it. Usually with new domains I can sell them the next day for hundreds in profit as I explained in a previous post. Now once you’ve got your domain it’s time to sell it for that beloved profit. Right we need to add this domain to many forums, blogs, social networks , twitter and auction sites, anywhere you can get exposure to it. Now what blogs what forums your asking? Well I have had most success on the following:

Forums:
dnscoop
DigitalPoint
Dnforum
NamePros

Blogs:
well for this you can pay people to promote your domain in a post or add it to your own blogs etc

Try my blog I list for free or here

Social Networks:
Twitter
Myspace
FaceBook

Orkut

Linkedin

auction sites:
Ebay
Sedo

I sell a lot of domains on digital point, I kind of feel that Digital point has lost its charm, but maybe you can still make small sales there.

Register, Develop and Flip – Now register develop and flip. This is wildly chosen by many domineers and works best for most. this involves buying keyword rich domains on a niche of your interest, developing a site or blog on them writing some content and then selling off both the content and the domain. This can be a very rewarding technique if initiated correctly. Some people spend months and even years developing websites to flip but we are just looking for a quick ROI and time after time. If you have a great unique idea and have time to spend then do spend time and make big money at the end, but I like to make quick blogs add some affiliate or advertisement integration and then sell quickly. the use of quality content ups the over all sale price that you receive. I suggest buying domains on a niche you like, setting up a blog wordpress etc and write a few articles, make a nice design and believe me the ROI can be quite high. I ‘ve experienced some great sales through this method.

Register, Develop, traffic and Flip – Now this is like the previous technique but this time you promote the website too. What you are doing is trying to get a stream of traffic to the site before you sell it. The selling price for this can be quite high. Now like before you can spend months and even years doing this, but remember we want quick money. So I suggest that you make your site/s and do all the above then for promoting it, just use forum signatures , add to all search engines and after a few posts you’ll be surprised how much search engine traffic you can receive. Now when you get a visitor count that your happy with you can then sell the site and boast about it’s visitors which will increase the value of the sale.

Domain flipping in my opinion is one of on-lines most rewarding and fun business to be part off. Don’t mind those people who say it is dieing it is as alive as ever before. When people say that all good domains are taken they are wrong. A domain is what you make it. Take lolble for example it is not even a word, yet this site has managed to become as big as it is. It’s all about the content! We hear this over and over but it’s the truth quality content makes a quality site. Well I hope everyone success and please ask questions, I will be glad to answer them!

Yahoo upgrade their search ads

yahoo_logo_ie_071609It has been said today in various blogs and papers including the New York Times that Yahoo will start adding video and images into their paid search advertisments. It is a blod move by Yahoo whos`s primary source of ad revenue was display ads. The market shift has seen Yahoos display ad revenue drop on the last quarter of 2008 by 2 percent while searches have increased by 11 percent. It is easy to see that Yahoo are trying to regain a lot of the ad share from Google but as Monty from monty mega markting says ¨will they be successful at it?¨

“Video is always more powerful than just words on the page,” said John Anton, the marketing director at Pedigree. “It’s definitely compelling to us to have options like this, where, when you type in ‘Pedigree,’ you get more than just the words, you get the video itself.”

Yahoo currently run this feature but for a monthly fee. They allow companies who have video ready for example Pepsi or home Depot. They have seens Click throughs up by 25 percent.

Carol Bartz, Yahoo’s new CEO, said in a conference call last month that “everything is on the table”.

The Rich Ads in Search program is being shared with a small number of brand advertisers such as Pedigree and Esurance and agencies such as Razorfish. The program lets advertisers:

Post images and video, which can increase the branding impact of search advertising. Pedigree has added video to its campaigns, for instance.
Create deep links to relevant pages, which can help drive conversions directly from the Yahoo! search results page.
Include boxes within the listing that lets users search for their desired product or a store location directly without additional navigation. Esurance’s listing lets users enter their ZIP codes from the results page for insurance quotes.
Show their logo, which enhances user trust.
Rich Ads in Search is currently by invitation only, but we will update you as it opens up to more of our brand advertisers. In the meantime, start thinking of what your search ads could do for you.

Toys.com back up for auction

toys-comThe sale of Toys.com was halted by the bankruptcy court but domainnamewire say that the domain will be autioned off again. Faculty Lounge, is the company that had prviously won the domain at an auction earlier this month.

Facult Lounge will be a stalking horse bidder in the auction meaning that they get to set the floor for the auction and gain some additional rights in return.

This wil mean that Faculty are setting the bar at the auction which will mean that the bankrutcy estate can be assured that they will have a buyer at a certain price and this will surly gain more interest to the auction. It will be interesting to see the outcome of this in the coming days.

Yahoo stats delay is affecting parking companies

yahoo_logo_ie_071609Yahoo have had a stats delay for a number of days now affecting many domain parking companies. This has stopped many companies from providing their customers with final results. I have been quite annoyed having to wait on this to resolve and I feel that the longer you have to wait for the results to finalise the less the estimated revenue is. Yahoo is one of the biggest domain name advertising feed providers.

The outage appears to have started late last week when parking companies started to notify customers of stats delays. The stats delays are affecting all major Yahoo partners, including Parked.com , TrafficZ , HotKeys, SmartName, Active Audience, and Goldkey

stats have started to update now for the 13th and 14th of this month but still some stats are still finalising. I have seen an increase surprisingly in the CPC on my domains which is a complaint that I will not be making.
