2010 is here and were already nine days in and already I can feel it being a great year for domainers. More sales , higher priced sales and an all round good year.
Although 2009 wasn’t all that bad, lets take a look back at the top 10 sales of 2009. Top sales of 2009 add up too $18,150,000 which is an 11% increase from 2008 sales of $16,118,642.
All top sales in 2009 were .com domains, where as in 2009 there were 4 ccTLDs in among the top 10.
Large sales were reported such as Cricket.com for $1.7 million, DropShippers.com for $1.5 million and Insure.com sold for $16 million. These are not included in the top 10 as they are fully fledged businesses and the buyer was not just getting the domain.
1.) Toys.com $5,100,000
2.) Candy.com $3,000,000
3.) Fly.com $1,760,000
4.) Auction.com $1,700,000
5.) Ticket.com $1,525,000
6.) Russia.com $1,500,000
7.) Call.com $1,100,000
8.) Webcam.com $1,020,000
9.) Server.com $770,000
10.) Luck.com $675,000
As you can see the top sales of 2009 are quite impressive and it will be interesting to how the sales of 2010 will compare and what domains they will be.
