DomainAdvertising.com to rebuild domain industry

Domainadvertising.com is a coming and its sure to make domainers happy. As DNW.com writes it has the potential to bring more advertising dollars to the domain traffic market. The service looks to allow advertisers to decide the value of the domains traffic.

This means that advertisers can buy parked domain clicks from existing networks amd directly from domain owners, leasing domain traffic and buying domain redirects.

This is what this means for domainers as taken from DNW.com:

We’re a traffic monetization program for domain owners. They will park their domains with us and we will then use our advertising network relationships to maximize the revenue earned on traffic from the domains. The traffic will be sold in different inventory models and using different media formats, optimized for the traffic that we receive. We will also selectively bring services like domain leasing and domain brokering among others. Our focus is to directly evangelize the domain medium to advertisers and help them buy traffic. We believe that of all the online advertising mediums available today, domains bring the best return on ad investments. Advertisers, in turn, have given us a great response and we already have over 120 networks joined up.

Yahoo stats delay is affecting parking companies

yahoo_logo_ie_071609Yahoo have had a stats delay for a number of days now affecting many domain parking companies. This has stopped many companies from providing their customers with final results. I have been quite annoyed having to wait on this to resolve and I feel that the longer you have to wait for the results to finalise the less the estimated revenue is. Yahoo is one of the biggest domain name advertising feed providers.

The outage appears to have started late last week when parking companies started to notify customers of stats delays. The stats delays are affecting all major Yahoo partners, including Parked.com , TrafficZ , HotKeys, SmartName, Active Audience, and Goldkey

stats have started to update now for the 13th and 14th of this month but still some stats are still finalising. I have seen an increase surprisingly in the CPC on my domains which is a complaint that I will not be making.

NameMedia makes changes to their parking platforms

Well theres some good news today for fellow domain parkers as we hear that NameMedia, parent company of BuyDomains and Afternic , have released improvments to their three main parking platforms, of which are GoldKey, ActiveAudience, and SmartName.

The improvements are as follows:

1. Reporting – improvements to reduce timeout issues and site downtime and improvements to data discrepancy reporting. This includes a move to a new data center as well as database improvements.

2. Dashboard – what was once a convoluted mess is now a simple dashboard including recent revenue, portfolio snapshot, and best and worst performing domains. Beyond the dashboard, I still find NameMedia’s reporting systems to be more complicated than some of its competitors. A simple click to view the entire month’s stats by domain name would be a nice addition.

3. Landers – introduced seven new templates including localized search. The new templates include a configurable number of results.

There are few differences between NameMedia’s parking services as they all use the same platform. GoldKey is intended for newer and smaller domainers, where as SmartName is an exclusive program for only the biggest domain portfolio owners.

Expenses to be aware of when domain parking

moneyexpenditureWell like every way to make money online, there is an expense to be made, and domaining is no exception. Below is a list that I have found online about expenses that you must be aware of paying, and also some of my own personal expenses.

1. Domain Registrations. Remember that you must renew your domains every year, and keep a track on how many that you have and the price you have spent on them. I have over 800 domains now, and renewal costs can get expensive.

2. Internet access, of course this is very important. With out this you won’t be able to get online and earn without it. If you work from Internet cafes or Cyber cafes, also remember to add that to the expenditure.

3. Phone – Business/work/mobile – Domain transactions take place mainly through phone calls. As well as buying and selling through phones you may need to call up account managers or companies about accounts etc, so keep this in mind that you will need to pay for phone bills etc

4. Domain Software – If you use software to optimize your domains or to keep them all together, remember that this costs. If you have multiple accounts with the one network, which is against TOS , but if a family member has one and you use the same computer you may use HideMyIp so take all software purchases into account.

5. Domain services – Maybe you have recurring subscriptions to websites such as Domaintools or Domaining forums. Remember to add these onto your expenditure also.

6. Web Hosting is another expense when domain parking. Not all domainers need to pay this but some who develop heir domains prior to parking them, will need to. So make sure to remember this.

7. Advertising – Although it is not aloud, but if you advertised your domains or websites with adwords or YPN or any ad network then this to is another expense.

8. FOOD – Us domainers get hungry when sitting at our computer running our business. So remember to account for the food and drinks that you buy when working :D

Domain parking coming to an end?

I have been reading many articles over the Internet the past few months that cry out that the industry of domain parking is coming to an end. There has been an up rise in the speculation and others feel it is a lie. As much as I hate to say it I to believe it is coming to an end.

As read on many forums users parking accounts are being deleted and they are not being issued their money. The reason being is due to the quality of their traffic, and how it is not converting for their advertisers. The thing with domain parking is that you need the big generic domains like car.com or loan.com to even be in with a chance to making the big bucks. There are many people out there making a few thousand a month with other types of domains witch is possible if they were a previous website or maybe a domain like cheapcars.com some two word domains that others will type in.

So why do I think it is coming to an end? Well is it really beneficial to the advertisers? I don’t feel that the visitors they are receiving is of great benefit to them. These parking companies are making a fortune through fake clicks but the advertisers are losing out. Yahoo have already mentioned putting an end to it and with the parking companies being asked by yahoo to shut a lot of their users accounts due to quality of traffic I can’t see it as being a means of advertising by advertisers anymore. To say the least I don’t see it coming to an end over night, but in time it will slowly. As of next year I feel it will not serve as big a purpose as it does today or did in the past.

How To Promote A new Registered Domain?

rightdomainHello and here a quick way to gain traffic to your newly registered domain. As we all know your not going to earn $$ on any domain if you don’t have traffic. But getting traffic to a new domain without having content can be very hard. But I have to be honest part of this is to make a website. First you will need hosting which can be got here. You can host an unlimited amount of websites on your hosting so it is a great deal.

Now when you have you domain you need to make a simple informative website  where you can even add your Google Adsense ads and earn some extra cash in the process.  In the download section you will find a link to Some simple website templates and some articles to add to your site to get you started.

Once your site is up the first and most important thing to do is to add your site to Google. This can be done here. Next it’s time to submit your site to directories. Click here for a list of over 1000 free high PR directories. This is where most of your traffic is going to come from. Parking companies allow for traffic to come from expired links, so doing all this before you park your domain is key. Not only that but having a website with a few articles will get your site indexed in Google meaning that you have a bigger chance of receiving organic search engine traffic.

Not only does this practice give you traffic but it also gives you back links, this will make your domain worth more money and possibly get your domain a high PR.

Promote your website like you would others but don’t pay to promote it. Were not here to spend money were only here to earn. The key to my online success was that I never had money to spend instead I made money and then invested parts of that. The only money that should be spent in this process is on domains.

Good way to tell if your domain is right!

Well now time to tell you if you have a good domain for parking. If your domain does not pass this test it does not mean it is bad nor does it mean you should get rid of it. This is just a test that I personally do before I purchase a domain that I wish to park.

Step one: Buying a domain from another domain owner

If you are buying an old domain of another domain porfolio owner you should always check it alexa rankings, its Google PR, indexed pages, searh results and keywords. I myself don’t believe in buying old domains cause the way I am going to teach you to make money online is by usding the new domains that you are goin to register.

Step two: Registering new domains

when registering your new domains you need to make sure that they are correct and that they will earn you money. First job is to go to Google.com and type your domain in like follows:

Example:

your  domain: loancalculator.com

Type this into goolge search as follows “loan Calculator”

This breaks up your keywords. You will find that there are 5,490,000 results for “loan calculator” and five adsense ads.

Once there are over 1 million results and over two adsense ads down the side the domain is good. But make sure that you check this site for the top paying keywords.  And try include one in your domain.
