Facebook To Charge Its Users £14.99 A Month?

Groups are emerging on Facebook with titles such as “We will not pay for Facebook” and “Facebook £14.99 monthly fee from July 2010″ but are these grops legit? When I say legit I mean is there any truth behind them what so ever?

One group on face book the  “300,000 members needed to stop Facebook charging £14.99 a month” has reached over 1 million members now. Is this a problem for Facebook?

Facebook has closed most of the groups that are spreading rumours and lies about the social network charging its users, and this could be bad for the site. Users on the group talk about returning to other social websites such as myspace and bebo. So are these groups spreading lies? Or is it true that Facebook will charge for the use of its website?

Facebook CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg has reported that Facebook will not begin charging its users for the se of their website:

We are not planning on charging a basic fee for our basic services. We’re growing really quickly, but we can finance that growth. We’re not going to charge for our basic services.

So good news for Facebook users that the site will remain free. My guess is a lot of these large groups will use the userbase to try and make quick cash through CPA and Affiliate offers.
