Google Indexes Over 52 Million Pages On Facebook

facebook-logoIt now appears that Google indexes more than 52 million Facebook groups. Facebook groups which have their group set to “open” in the privacy settings are indexable by all Search Engines.

People ask why would Facebook open up over 52 million groups for Google to index? Well the answer to that is simple. Google is one of the largest drivers of traffic to Facebook. So adding an extra 52 million pages to the search index is not going to do any harm to Facebook what so ever. Over 745 million pages in total are indexed on Facebook, this meaning that groups account for a large portion of the search traffic sent to Facebook from Google Search Engine.

Facebook leads the rest of the online world by having the most pages indexed by Google Yahoo are in second place with over 631 million. Considering Facebook has a rapidly growing percentage of the entire Internet on their own servers it’s no wonder that Google are obsessed with Facebook.
