The Median Ages For Popular Websites, Twitter, Facebook, Myspace And Linkedin

OK so yesterday saw some weird trending topics on Twitter. I had this post ready too send out yesterday but instead went too the movies too see saw VI , apologies too my readers. But hey I’ll add it up now for you guys.

Right well Linkedin 39, Facebook 33, Twitter 31 and Myspace 26, were all trending topics yesterday. For those of you that didn’t know what they meant well here’s an explanation.

These number represent the median age of users on Linkedin , Twitter, Myspace and Facebook. Facebook has increased from 26 in 2008 too 33 for 2009, this is surprising as I thought a lot more younger age groups were beginning to en power the site but obviously not the case.

Check out the stats for Twitter below it is beginning too attract a lot of different age groups. It is aging backwards unlike Facebook. You would have too say this is due too a lot of young people joining Twitter as more and more celebrities begin to show a presence on the mini blogging site.

Myspace to sign possible deal with MSN

myspace-logoYesterday the shocking news emerged that Myspace and facebook were negotiating a content-sharing agreement. This came as a surprise seeing how it was Facebook that took over from myspace in dominating the social space.

But that’s not the end of myspace’s talks, fresh news has broke that myspace are also in talks with MSN over some sort of music deal. Kara Swisher says “MSN is interested in using the social networking site’s music service, MySpace Music, to help power music offerings on the giant portal,”

“While sources at both companies cautioned the talks were still early, Microsoft (MSFT) – which has its own music site that it programs with original and partnered content – execs are interested in goosing it.”

This will see MSN users having access to a lot more music which will surely benefit Microsoft, not to mention the cash that Myspace would receive if such a deal went a head would benefit them greatly.
