The latest ways of watching TV

Traditionally  families would gather in front of the conventional TV set in the living room or TV room for social interaction and TV time. Watching TV not only serves as a form of entertainment, it also provides critical information via the news announcements and enhances our shopping experience via the diverse media shopping networks. As clever invention and knowhow evolved, it appears that watching TV may no longer be restricted to the conventional TV set, conventional broadcast is still the winner of  ï»¿ media entertainment and as a source of communication.

However, this may not remain true for too long going forward as satellite TV and Internet TV are promptly gaining popularity as alternative sources of media entertainment. Of course, with the upcoming inventions on 3D or even 4D TV sets which will take the universe by storm, the conventional way of watching TV will still reign. Then again, such technology will quickly catch on and complement Satellite TV and Internet TV….. by then it will rock the world! Of course, this will form the basis of another article or research entirely. The  normal way of watching TV may be adequate for many at the moment, however, due to many limitations posed by the conventional TV, the TV savvy end users may not be satisfied with only watching conventional TV. Some of these  disadvantages and problems  are:-

 • Restricted  TV channels

 • Fixed Time  Schedule, requiring one to rush  home or pre-record the program

 • Limited languages

 • Heavy censorship that lead to lack of transparency in communication of news and information?

 •  Flooded by Commercials

 • Problems caused by TV sharing when members disagree over which channels to watch

 •  Physical Contraints – not able to watch any TV when on the move

For the more  astute and savvy end user, Satellite TV, with the  comparatively wider selection of TV channels may be a better choice. However, as the cost of installation the satellite hardware and recurring monthly charges are not cheap, this may not be a  appropriate choice for those of use who are cost conscious .
