Domain flipping to me is one of the wonders of the Internet. Just like website flipping but without the need for the time and effort put into developing a website. Over my two years online I have been lucky to register the correct domains and been able to sell them for great profits. In fact just the other day I registered two domains that were to do with charities. I purchased them for $8.09 each at name.com and the next morning put them up on a forum for sale and sold both for $750. Not bad if you ask me. A nice ROI over night.
Some people would say that it was just luck or was it good game play? did I know what I was doing before hand? The answer is YES! I read on a forum that a company was looking to buy a good charity domain for a new online store that they were opening. So I added the user to AIm and told them that I had a whole portfolio of charity domains ( in fact I only had a hand few) I talked to him and asked what he was looking for and what his shop was selling etc. I then found out that he was selling “Charity books” so I hit name.com and bought a domain with the keywords “charity” and “books” and told him I had it. Straight away he purchased it from me for $450 then I registered another and wam he bought that too for$300!
So can you become rich over night with domain flipping? Answer is it’s plausible but very doubtful unless you register a really good generic domain or get lucky I guess. But there is money to be made and you saw it from my previous sale that over night I banked $750 from an investment of only $16.18
The Domain flipping business has been around for a while now and many people have seen it as a potential source for big dollars with the least amount of input. The most common reason that many individuals and businesses are turning to the domain flipping industry is because of how simple it is, how low the initial investment is, how small the work load is and how high the ROI can reach. All this can be achieved by just registering a domain name, parking it or simply just going to a forum and putting it up for sale. The rest is history.
People have many different approaches to domain parking. There a numerous ways to go about it and I have listed them below :
1.“Register domain and Flip” : – Registering a domain and flipping it is the most common method in domain flipping. This consists of either register an expired domain that already has traffic or registering a new domain. Registering an expired domain can be good if the individual or company who registered it first need it back, therefore they’ll pay you good money. After you register your new or expired domain you simply put it up for sale on forums, blogs, or auction sites. Sedo.com is one of the most popular domain auction sites used for domain flipping purposes. This method can be the best if you manage to register keyword rich domains and they are readable by a human. This method is also properly the best as it involves so little effort to put into practice. Many domain portfolio owners boast a high ROI on this method.
2.“Register, Develop and Flip” : -A lot of domainers prefer to purchase a domain and then develop it into a website. This seems better as you get to sell both the domain and the content of the website for a higher over all price. But the negative side of this is that it involves more time and skill to be put in. If you have time and you have skill in web development then this may be your method, but if your looking for a simpler way then method one is better for you.
3.“Register, Develop, traffic and Flip” : – This method is the best for a domainer who is patient and has a lot of time on their hands. It is probably the highest earning method of the three it put into effect correctly. It involves purchasing a domain, developing a website and then promoting it to get it traffic. If you build up a good stream of visitors with a lot of returning visitors then you have a good foundation for a high sale. The end price that you earn depends on the specific niche that you choose. Many domainers don’t consider this a good method as it involves such a long time of work , some times years.
As you can see from this tutorial that domain flipping is a very rewarding business to enter. Not only will you earn good money if put into practice correctly and if you have the time to invest in making it successful but you will enjoy doing it also, and we all know that that is the main part of business. Enjoying what you do. So I suggest if your looking for a new venture online then domain flipping is worth a go for you. Don’t mind articles you read or forum posts about domain flipping becoming a dying business. They are wrong they believe this because it is getting harder and harder to register a good .com domain. But what is classified good? A domain is what you make it. If you promote it correctly it will pay off. After all who would have taught that ” lolble” was a good name for a webmasters blog?
